- A player must be 18 years of age or over the legal age of majority in their resident jurisdiction (whichever is greater) to participate in the UKIPT Leaderboard rankings (“Leaderboard Rankings”). A player may be asked at any stage to provide PokerStars or a third party on behalf of PokerStars with proof of age and/or government issued identity document (passport or valid picture ID). Any entrant unable to produce such proof of age as and when requested will be disqualified from the Leaderboard Rankings.
- By participating in the Leaderboard Ranking, each player grants PokerStars the right to use that player’s name, image likeness and biographical details for promotional purposes without compensation to the player. Each player further agree to help promote PokerStars and act as a PokerStars spokesperson during and after the events that the player is involved in (if requested by PokerStars), including but not limited to, meeting with press and participating in other events conducted by PokerStars.
- To win a prize from the Leaderboard Ranking, players must accumulate the highest number of points (“Points”) which will be awarded by PokerStars in the manner set out in Clause 4 below. The prizes which can be won are non-transferable and non-exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for money, money’s worth or consideration of any kind. Details of the prizes on offer can be found here (“Prizes”).
- Any player that registers for and participates in a UKIPT main event (“Main Event”) will be automatically entered into the Leaderboard Ranking and will be awarded Points for participating (“Participation Points”). In addition to the Participation Points, a player may also qualify for and receive:
- Points for participating in 6 or more Main Events (“Bonus Points”); and
- Points based on a player’s finishing position at the conclusion of the Main Event (“Main Event Points”). For the avoidance of doubt, only players that receive a cash payout based on their finishing position at the Main Event will be eligible to receive the Bonus Points.
All awarded Points will be added together to determine the player with the highest number of Points which will then be published as part of the Leaderboard Ranking.
- If upon conclusion of the Leaderboard Ranking, two or more players tie with the highest number of Points, then the player with the highest finishing position from the Main Event will be declared the winner and awarded the first place Prize.
- If players in the Main Even confer, negotiate and/or agree amongst themselves to alter, divide, share or distribute the prize pool payouts in any manner other than as stipulated by PokerStars or the organisers/sponsors of the Main Event, then the Bonus Points will: (i) only be awarded to those players who receive a cash payout based on their finishing position at the Main Event; and (ii) be capped at what would be awarded to the lowest ranked finishing position in receipt of a cash payout. By way of example only, if a deal to split the prize pool is made with three players remaining, all three players will receive Bonus Points for third place.
- Any prizes to be awarded as part of the Leaderboard Ranking are given on the basis that a player in receipt of a Prize that grants that player entry into a poker tournament is required to wear PokerStars logo or branded clothing exclusively throughout that poker tournament. Failure to do so will result in the forfeit of the Prize.
- In case of any disputes regarding any aspect of the Leaderboard Rankings, all matters relating to the awarding of Prizes and/or these terms or conditions, the final decision lies with PokerStars management, is binding and shall not be subject to review or appeal by a player or by any third party in any way whatsoever.
- By participating in the Leaderboard Ranking, each player agrees to release, discharge and hold harmless PokerStars, its legal representatives, affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies and its respective officers, directors, employees and agents, to the extent permitted by law, from any damages whatsoever, including any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the acceptance of any prizes.
- PokerStars reserves the right, at any time to alter these terms and conditions at its sole discretion, including to cancel, modify or suspend the operation of the Leaderboard Ranking if, in its sole discretion, PokerStars believes that the Leaderboard Ranking is not capable of being conducted as specified.
- These terms and conditions and matters relating hereto shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with Isle of Man law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Isle of Man courts.
