Final Table

Final Table

Nick Abou Risk, 25, Canada – 1,312,000
Our chip leader is a well-known face on the UKIPT circuit, having won UKIPT Edinburgh in Season 1. A software developer who has been playing poker for four years, Nick describes his style of play as loose-aggressive, which he puts down to a combination of maths and instinct. Nick cites his ambitions as winning another big live tournament and one online, and he’ll be hoping that by close of play tomorrow he will have ticked one of those off the list.

Eoin Olin, 28, Ireland – 857,000
Eoin is a restauranteur from Dublin who has been playing poker for ten years. Eoin’s biggest live win to date is €18,000 and going into the final table second in chips, he’s in a good position to add considerably to that sum.

Maurice Silke, 65, Ireland – 780,000
Maurice is a retired father of three who has been playing poker for five years. His biggest live win to date is €7,000 and his ambition is to win a big tournament. Outside of poker, Maurice enjoys golf and horseracing.

Vytenis Navickas, 19, Lithuania, PokerStars Qualifier – 542,000
Vytenis is a student who enjoys playing home games and who is playing his first ever final table here at UKIPT Galway. Away from poker, Vytenis enjoys playing basketball, football and pool and his ambition is to Major in Finance in his studies.

Dan Rankin, 20, Ireland, PokerStars Qualifier – 514,000
Dan is one of the tournament’s local heroes, hailing from Galway. Dan describes his style of poker as aggressive and it has certainly helped him in this tournament, where he has already outdone his previous largest live cash of €1000. Dan’s favourite poker player is fellow Galway man and Team PokerStars Pro Jude Ainsworth, whose style he admires.

Trish Mallin, 34, Ireland – 506,000
Another local hero, Trish is an editor from Galway who has been playing poker for about three years. She describes her approach to poker as ‘fun’ and cites her ambitions as being healthy and happy – we think that her first UKIPT final table might contribute a little to the latter.

Roar Aspaas, 23, Norway, PokerStars Qualifier – 391,000
Roar cites Galway as his favourite place to play poker and it’s no surprise given that he will play his first UKIPT final table here. He will be hoping to better his biggest live win to date of €13,000 on the way to fulfilling his ambition to becoming a poker pro.

Johan Meyer, 19, Germany – 252,000
Johan is a student who lives in Galway and who plays his live poker at the Eglinton Casino. His biggest live win to date was €5000 in the UKIPT Dublin Heads Up event in Season 1, and he will be hoping to better this record in Season 2’s first stop. Away from poker, Johan enjoys playing badminton and table tennis and is a Bayern Munich fan.

Aonghus Farrell, 23, Ireland – 114,000
Aonghus is going into his second UKIPT final table, having finished as runner up at UKIPT Killarney back in Season 1. An Aston Villa fan who describes his style of play as tight-aggressive, Aonghus’s ambitions are to become a poker pro.
